Events

It's important to know where you came from, the events you do is what you learn from and are known for. The two weekly's we've done CMPL and GGSW, these are where we first got our footing with streaming and how to run things. Outside of the weekly events would be regional events. The most important one also being our first would be  Holiday Heist 2 . This was our first time working with tournament organizers from outside of Macomb and also had top players from out of state come to participate, like Indiana and Ohio.Other events that we did would include Nightmare in Memeland, Waddles World, and Michigan Masters 2017 (by the way, don't ask I don't make the names). All of these events were fun to do, meeting new people from out of region and getting to learn how others run events on larger scales was a good learning experience that have helped the stream immensely both online and offline.

Why I do it

Since we've been doing this for a bit now some people have asked me why I stream. My answer to them is cause it's fun and it's helped me to be a more social person. When I first started streaming the event we'll say I wasn't the most sociable person. Not to say that I was mean towards people, I just didn't have the best social skills and didn't like talking because of it. After getting into the rhythm of streaming the events though I began to meet new people both in person and in stream. I never would've met these people without doing the event, and thanks to the experiences I've had with them I became a more open person. I'm no social butterfly now, but I'm more comfortable with myself.

Equipment

Equipment! that's an interesting thing, the guts of what we use and which software do we prefer. To start things off simple, we use a pretty small set up in comparison to the others. On the hardware side we have an hdvr 2 as our capture card (maybe upgrading to an Elgato 60), 2x C930 Cameras, a Blue Snowball Microphone, 3x 1080p 60hz Monitors (2 for stream side, 1 for the players), and of course our pc (which we're borrowing from an outside source atm). for our Software we use StreamLabs OBS to run stream, Challonge.com to run bracket, and ScoreBoard Assistant to change the display text mid stream seamlessly. With this combination of tools we provide try to provide the best tourney experience for GGSW.

Ultimate tournament in Michigan GGSW (Gamers Gauntlet Smash Weeklies). Let's start this off with a quicky history on us. We used to consist of 4-5 people but now we're down to 2, my friend  Deno  and me,  JP  (side note: most of this blog will be told from my personal perspective). We started out streaming CMPL, a more casual Smash 4 weekly that was hosted in the Clinton Macomb Public Library, this was our first weekly we ever attended and offered to stream it under the name of the weekly until the event was canceled in 2016. After CMPL we were picked up immediately by the GGSW team where we needed to re brand ourselves quickly (like 2 days), and went with the name TeamDxCx. For the remainder of Smash 4 we operated under this name which was... interesting to say the least. The name was hard for people to remember and was alwa...
